Fair Seeks Candidates for Board of Directors
The Alaska State Fair is seeking qualified individuals who wish to serve on the Fair board of directors; the candidate application deadline is December 15, 2010. The Fair’s general membership will vote to fill the open seats at the Fair’s annual membership meeting on February 10, 2011.
Qualifications
Applicants must be:
- Residents of the State of Alaska
- At least 18 years of age
- Current members of the Alaska State Fair, Inc.
As Fair directors become ambassadors of the Fair, candidates who are visible and active in the community are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Candidates should be prepared to assume the responsibilities of a Fair director, which include:
- Preparing for monthly board meetings.
- Attending monthly board meetings.
- Actively participating in two or more committees, which meet periodically throughout the year.
Application Instructions
- Membership fee of $25 or one-time life membership fee of $250 delivered to the Main Office of the Alaska State Fair no later than 4:30 pm on Wednesday, December 15, 2010.
- Candidate paperwork completed and delivered to the Main Office of the Alaska State Fair no later than 4:30 pm on Wednesday, December 15, 2010.
Delivery options for the candidate profile are: email, mail, fax, or personal delivery. However, please note paperwork must be received in the main office by 4:30 pm, December 15, 2010. During the annual meeting, candidates may make a 3 minute presentation to the membership prior to the call for ballots.
