Winners will be announced at the 2024 Giant Cabbage Weigh-Off on August 30th (Starts at 6 PM)

First place: $75
Second place: $50
Third place: $25

Contest Guidelines

• Two entries maximum per person.
• Author of limerick must be same as entrant’s name.
• Winners need not be present to collect.

• A panel of local judges will select winners based on the following criteria:

1.   Does the entry meet the definition of a limerick (rhyming scheme “AABBA”)?    Non-limerick entries are not eligible for awards. For examples of limericks and ideas    for how to write a great one, see https://www.wikihow.com/Write-a-Limerick.
2.    Does the limerick support the spirit of the Alaska State Fair Giant Cabbage Weigh-Off?
